Natural Citrine is a pale golden color semi-precious quartz stone. There is some cloudiness in the stone making it appear pale in color. This is more rare and not found as often.
Heat treated Citrine has a brighter clear yellow color. On the other hand stones can be as dark as golden brown or burnt amber in color and can resemble Topaz. Citrine gets its yellowish color by the amount of iron content.
