Who Am I?
My name is Laura and I am a regular person just like you. Just like many, I have a very busy life, work full time and have a wonderful husband and child. My hobbies are mainly gardening and quilting, although I do not spend near enough time as I would like doing them. I was not brought up learning or knowing anything at all about using my inborn psychic abilities. I really had no idea that this was something that could be learned and developed. I had always just assumed you were either born psychic or you weren’t.
The notion that everyone has this available as an inborn ability was in and of itself a revelation for me and very exciting. I’ve always been fascinated from a young age, by things that cannot be explained as easily or as logically as people would like him to be.
Being psychic was an area that was often scoffed and snickered at by parents, family members and friends. It was just something to be made fun of and ridiculed. Not many in my family took it seriously, nor gave it any particular attention. No one I knew at the time believed that anyone could really have psychic abilities or that you could actually learn to develop them.
So I felt like I started from ground zero. Perhaps you feel the same. I am absolutely fascinated by subjects like Reiki, tarot cards, pendulum dowsing, and numerology and want to learn as much as I can about them. I have always wanted to know more about this stuff, but when I was still living with my parents way back when as a teenager there was no way I could have brought a book about Tarot or Astrology into the house, so that part of me closed down for the next 20 years, until recently.
So, is it Really Possible to Learn how to Access Your Intuition?
I expect I am not the only one out there in the world that wants to know more about learning how to access their psychic abilities. Perhaps you have found my site looking for answers to a specific question about tarot, dowsing pendulums, or wondering why you keep seeing repeating number patterns.
Becoming psychic is not something that only certain special people have the ability to access, it’s just that many of us were conditioned by well meaning friends and family not to believe in this stuff when were growing up. After all, there are not a lot of hard facts to back up intuition and you tend to believe what your parents tell you.
Belief in Your Abilities
There is a point in your life when it comes down to belief and faith. Once you have faith in your own divine spirit and energy, many, many wonderful things become possible. Learning to access your intuition can go a long way in making your journey through life so much smoother. I wish I had figured this out back when I was 18 or 20 years old as there were some very, very difficult times I went through and some lessons that unfortunately had to be learned the hard way.
My point is that if you have enough of an interest in anything you can learn it, including learning to access your intuition. This has been a positive experience for me so far and I wish you the best on your journey as well. Read more about starting this website and my journey.

I can so relate to your post. I’ve had some paranormal/psychic experiences throughout my life, but I’ve found that as I grew older, I began to question their validity even more than I did as a child. One of the recent ones that kept reoccuring and getting stronger turned out to be valid, even though I kept questioning it in my mind. My heart (intuition) knew exactly what it was, where and who it was coming from and the purpose behind it. However, I allowed my rational side to discount it and keep me from following through on it. When it was confirmed as being accurate, I don’t know why I a part of me was shocked. It has made me vow not to ever let myself question an experience like that again.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I had a pretty good psychic hit last week involving good friends of ours. In this case I am really hoping I am not correct, but time will tell. This is one time I trusted the information I received and pushed aside the logic and rationalization I usually get my brain wrapped up within. I told my husband about it and he in turn asked a question to our friend that hopefully will get him to ask the right questions for his situation.
BTW I checked out your blog and really resonated with being an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person).

I was one of those people who thought you were either born psychic or had to have a traumatic life-threatening experience for psychic gifts to surface. For years I was disheartened to read story after story of miraculous awakenings people had after a near-death experience. Since I wasn’t born with any special gifts that I knew of, and I really didn’t want to suffer any trauma to realize them, I didn’t have much hope, but I still had desire.
I believe that just by aligning with my desire to have psychic abilities, I was led through the choices and experiences that enabled my intuition to rapidly blossom.
Now my intuitional abilities are strong and accurate, and I rely on them as much as I do my other physical senses to navigate my reality.
Psychic talent is like any other talent – some people are better equipped for it than others, but everyone can develop their abilities with practice, faith, and an open, curious imagination.

I agree with what you said about aligning with your desire to have psychic abilities. Just by setting the intention to develop my psychic abilities, I have seen quite a bit of growth in a short amount of time. The abilities are definitely getting stronger, and I am able to trust them without second guessing and questioning the response.
