Remote Viewing Practice Results

Congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated in the Remote Viewing Practice post from Friday, September 9th. Here are the results.

In my last post I asked for volunteers to practice their remote viewing abilities. I was so excited to see that 17 people participated in this remote viewing exercise. That is just awesome!

The Answers

The Tarot cards are as follows: The High Priestess, The Sun, Justice, Judgement, and The Moon. These are from the Universal Waite deck of Tarot Cards.

Here is a synopsis from the previous post of the answers from the 17 participants:

Cat – 1 Meadow, tranquil, grass, nature, 2 Brightness, light, magic, sprinkling, 3 Hanging, tree, joker or jester, 4 Tempest, storm, ocean or some body of water, possibly a ship being tossed about, 5 Blackness, queen or other powerful woman (I don’t know much about Tarot and don’t own a set so don’t laugh at my impressions. These are just the feelings I had from looking at the cards, and I wrote them down before looking at any others.)

Anita – I just got impressions. I am only vaguely familiar with Tarot cards. #1 I see a helmet like a conquistador, #2 I see a sun with spade shaped rays all around, #3 I have the impression of a hanged man, #4 I see a dark blue sky with diamond shaped stars, #5 a skeleton

Jess – I’m not too familiar with all the tarot cards but here goes the images I’m getting……

My Notes

For those of you that are not familiar with Tarot cards, you did quite well. Your visual impressions captured many of the feelings from the cards.

There were many that were quite close, mentioning the sun, moon, and a queen (which is quite close to the High Priestess card).

No one picked up on the fact that they were all from the Major Arcana (the first 22 cards in the tarot deck).

For those of you who saw numbers, the corresponding numbers on the cards are #2 – High Priestess, #19 -Sun, #11-Justice,#20-Judgement, and #18-Moon.

So, what did you think? Are you bummed out or excited? Do you want to play again or something new? I have considered another remote viewing exercise with a photo or hand drawn picture, or would you like to play again with the Tarot cards?

Remote Viewing Practice – Friday Fun

Are you interested in practicing Remote Viewing for some Friday Fun? Record your impressions of the cards and leave your answer in the comments below.

I am starting something new on my blog and hope you will play along. I want to do this to add a little bit of fun around here, as many of the subjects I talk about here are a bit deep. I figure that if I feel like I need some fun, you probably do too.

So, if this goes well, I want to begin doing this as a regular Friday feature. I participated in a remote viewing thread on the Steve Pavlina forum a few years back and that is what gave me the idea.

What is Remote Viewing

According to the International Remote Viewing Association, “Remote viewing is a mental faculty that allows a perceiver (a “viewer”) to describe or give details about a target that is inaccessible to normal senses due to distance, time, or shielding.”

How to Participate

Find a quiet spot and center your mind. Feel the cards coming through to you and leave your impressions and answers in a comment below.

Because this is the first time I have posted this, I will tell you that these are Tarot cards. If you are not too familiar with Tarot cards, work on what is coming through via your visual impressions.

The best of luck to everyone who participates. This is all in good fun.:)

Attending a Psychic Fair

Ever considered attending a psychic fair or wondered what one had to offer? Read about my experiences during my first visit to a metaphysical fair.

Since I write a lot about metaphysical and spiritual matter on this blog, and have now started offering intuitive readings, I thought it was appropriate that I finally find out what goes on at a psychic fair, having never been to one before.

Here is a breakdown of my experience. The metaphysical fair was held about 30 minutes from my home and was quite easy to find. I walked in and the faint smell of some type of familiar incense greeted me, though I couldn’t put my finger on just which fragrance I was sensing. It was welcoming however, and made me feel at ease.

There were two rooms, the first of which held tables with items for sale. One of the tables had a wonderful selection of healing stones and crystals and a nice variety of Tarot cards, sage, dowsing pendulums, and other items typical of a metaphysical bookstore. Another table carried some creative candle burners. I wish there had been a few more vendor tables, but I did take my time to look at each one.

There were two tables of pamphlets and information on different types of readings you could have done that day. Anything from palmistry, numerology, intuitive readings, tarot cards and aura readings. There were about a dozen in all to choose from, each reader with their own area of specialty.

I inquired about how to purchase these readings. You just signed up on a sheet, paid your money and waited until your number was called. I chose to purchase an aura reading.

That is something that I have not done before and I was curious how software and a digital camera could read my aura. I waited about 20 minutes before it was my turn. I found out that these psychic fairs are held four times per year at this particular location, so I signed up for the mailing list while waiting for my reading.

As I entered the second room, the lights were dimmed softly and there was a low buzz from the voices coming from the readings. The dozen round tables were spread out around the floor so there was plenty of room between so as not to be disturbed or overhead when you were having your intuitive reading.

I sat down and we introduced ourselves and then she told me about how a digital aura reading works. She then proceeded to do the aura reading and I received an 18 page printout on my aura and each of my chakras. It was completely fascinating.

Sorry to leave you hanging on that, but I will be writing another blog post very soon about my aura reading as it will take more than a paragraph to explain it. I will say that if you have the chance, I highly recommend getting your aura read. It’s quite cool! Sign up for my newsletter so you don’t miss it.

One thing I will say, is it felt quite good to be surrounded by like minded people that can talk about this subject matter openly. I felt like I was in good company.

If you have the chance, do try and attend a local metaphysical fair in your area. It is a memorable experience that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Psychic Tarot Oracle Cards

Psychic Tarot Oracle Cards from John Holland are tarot cards with an updated look and feel. They are suitable for all levels of tarot reading, from beginner to advanced. Read my review of this deck.

If you have had some trouble learning and understanding traditional tarot cards or they just didn’t resonate, you may find this deck to be what you are looking for. Perhaps you are bored with your current cards and need a little variety for your readings. I know I am always on the lookout for new additions to my collection. I just purchased these Psychic Tarot Oracle cards recently and they are quickly becoming one of my favorite decks of oracle cards.

I currently have 3 decks from Doreen Virtue, which I love working with, but wanted to try cards done by someone else for some variety and to see if the reading accuracy was better or worse. You can check them out here: The Psychic Tarot Oracle Cards: a 65-Card Deck, plus booklet!

The Deck

This tarot deck is 65 cards and also includes a 170 page booklet with explanations of each of the cards. Much of the deck follows traditional tarot, but there are also 7 Chakra cards added in to bring additional meaning and depth to the reading.

Rather than the traditional tarot suits of Wands, Cups, Pentacles, and Swords, the suits in this deck are listed as Mental, Spirit, Physical and Emotional. There are 21 Major Arcana cards which are named slightly differently than a traditional tarot deck, but have their relationship to the original cards listed.

The cards are amazingly accurate, and I have been quite impressed with the results from the reading. They are able to paint a good picture through the images on the cards and the written meanings flow together nicely. I can relate better to the more spiritual nature of the reading.

John Holland

For those of you who are not familiar with John Holland, he is an internationally renwoned psychic medium that has been developing his abilities for the past 20 years. He has appeared on various television shows and has published multiple books on developing your psychic abilities. These cards are a nice addition to his other offerings.

My Personal Observations

The artwork on these cards is clear, vibrant, and accurate and I found that you can really resonate with the pictures to put together an accurate synopsis in relation the question asked.

I found this deck easier to use than a traditional tarot deck. The images and explanations just seemed to make more sense to me and fit together easier. It is a beautiful and simple deck that will be a nice addition to my current cards.

Choosing a Good Tarot Reader

Getting professional tarot readings is a very personal thing. You want the person doing the reading to be able to relate and resonate with you and be within your comfort zone. So how do you know who can give you a good reading? Who you ultimately end up choosing will probably largely be dependent on how well you resonate with them. Do they make you smile or laugh? Do they have a similar tone in their voice or a dry sense of humor? Even online, you can get a feel for this by reading their website carefully.

Not all readers are meant for all people. Comfort level with the person reading the cards goes a long way in a successful reading. In many cases it comes down to an intuitive feel or gut instinct. For example, most professional psychics will not do readings for legal or court matters and would ask that you consult a qualified attorney instead.

Exaggerated claims of accuracy. No tarot reading is 100% accurate, but if getting a professional reading you should be able to expect about 75% accuracy. After Your Reading

Once you have chosen a person to answer your question via the tarot cards, keep good notes.

Did the reading clarify your question and make you feel empowered, full of energy, and uplifted? If your reading left you feeling let down, you may want to select another reader the next time you decide to have a reading. That particular person may not have been suited to your needs or you may have had your expectations set too high as to what types of questions tarot cards can answer.

If having a reading online, keep good notes of the reading you received along with the website name and the name of the reader. Also note whether or not the reading resonated with you and if you felt you were understood. Keep a record of the question you asked as well.

With some of these thoughts, you should be able to make a more informed choice regarding why you would want a professional tarot reading and how to go about choosing a reader that you feel comfortable working with.

The Tarot is an age old way of accessing your inner knowledge and intuition. For many, when you think of a card reading, it conjures up images of a lady in a brightly colored skirt and blouse with puffed sleeves, wearing a scarf wrapped around her head. She may be talking with a very low deep serious voice about how dire the cards laid out in front of you are and what perils are in your future. Just pay her a bit more money and she can tell you your fate and how to fix it. It is unfortunate that many people have this view of getting a reading, and therefore discount its validity.

Rest assured, modern day tarot is generally done by someone who is dressed professionally and could easily be your neighbor down the hall or live a few homes away from you. It can be done over the phone, in person or via e-mail. Most modern day readers have established prices and policies so that you know exactly what you will be receiving for your dollar. Also, reading the cards is not so much about telling your fortune or future, but more to gain information from higher self that is sitting in your subconsciousness.

Tarot Cards – How do they Work?

Tarot cards can give you an overall view of what is currently going on in your present life. Find information and explanations of how the cards work, interpretations, card meanings, how to use tarot cards and where to buy card decks and books.

Along with your current situation, they can also give you a reflection to what has happened in your recent past, along with what has the potential to happen in your immediate future if you stay on the same path you are currently on. The cards can pick up on major events in your life, along with emotions and your subconscious thoughts.

My very first impressions of tarot cards was that they were dark, mysterious, and truth be told, a bit scary looking. There were ominous pictures of characters that didn’t seem to have a lot of rhyme or reason together in a deck of large playing cards. How could this deck of cards possibly help you in accessing your psychic abilities or intuition?

After starting to take a closer look at each of the cards, I realized that there was a story to be put together and each of the cards made up a small piece of that story. I wondered about what the characters were doing and what the symbolism meant. The cards are open to a lot of interpretation, but do have some general qualities that are shared among those who can read the cards.

A current deck contains 78 total cards. There are 22 Major Arcana cards and 56 Minor arcana cards. Each card in the Major Arcana is numbered from 0-21 and represents the story of the Tarot. The Minor Arcana are much like supporting actors in a play and help to put the entire story together.

Tarot cards are quite and interesting and age-old method of accessing your inner knowledge. They are a method of accessing your intuition that you can have some fun playing around with. After getting comfortable with the cards, you will begin to learn the absolutely fascinating stories that they tell, and those stories all reside in your subconscious just waiting to be told and understood.

The more focused and concentrated you are when you ask your question and the more emotion behind the question before your tarot card reading the better answer you will receive. Your subconscious will help you choose which cards you most need to see at that moment in time. You may not like the answer, but you will receive an answer.

There are times when the same cards keep appearing in your layouts. Although the first layout is generally the most accurate, if you are doing your own spreads you can repeat the layouts 3, 4, or 5 times if you want and the same one or two or more cards may keep coming up. This is because your higher self has a message for you and it’s trying to get something important across to you.

I have also had experiences where the same cards will come up in a reading multiple days and even weeks in a row. This is because you haven’t addressed the issue in your subconscious mind. Take some time to research in more depth the meanings of the specific tarot cards and really think about how it applies to your life.

Tarot is a great method and way of learning about your life and what would be a good idea to be concentrating on right now. Learn about the things that are affecting you at the this point in time. It gives you a good feeling to get some answers and gain security and knowledge of positive knowing. Even if you don’t like the response, at least you can know how to deal with what the cards are telling you and what is coming up in the near future if you stay on your current path.
