<p>I found this relaxing Reiki healing music on You Tube and thought I would share it with you. It is short, less than 5 minutes long and is perfect for relieving a bit of stress in your day.</p>
<p>Even if you don&#8217;t know much about Reiki, you can still benefit from the calming and healing effect it has on your mind and body. Who couldn&#8217;t use a relaxation break?</p>
<p>I am currently a Reiki Level I Practitioner. I will be taking the Level II Class this fall. <p>For me, Reiki has been a wonderful self healing tool that I use almost every day. I thought it appropriate for myself as I will be enjoying a few days off on holiday (we really call it vacation in the States, but I like the term holiday better). <img src='http://www.intuitivejournal.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Time for a bit of rest, relaxation, calm and rejuvenation. Even if you are not going on holiday soon, take 5 minutes and you will be amazed at how calm you will feel.</p>

<p>I know that there are way too many social networks out there these days, but <a href="http://www.jasonsnetwork.com/" target="_blank">www.JasonsNetwork.com</a> is different in that it takes a spiritual approach to networking. It is a place to find an online home full of people who think much the same as you. Yes, there are real human beings there. You are not alone!</p>
<p>You can find a community of people interested in self help, psychic abilities, spiritual awakenings, alternative healing, angels,personal development, and many other similar subjects.</p>
<p>You can advertise your business, write blog posts, share photos or talk via the forums.  Registration is free, so go take a look around.</p>
<p>I also want to note that <strong>Jason McElhone, Founder of  JasonsNetwork.com</strong> is one of the most involved website owners I have seen in a long time. He is an inspiration and always working on something with his site to benefit its members. All he asks is that you get in the game and add some of your own thoughts, via talking to or sharing with others.</p>
<p>I think as someone that follows a spiritual path, it is becoming more and more important to make connections with people who have similar beliefs and values such as your own, but also allows you to grow through new thoughts and ideas.</p>

Learn how to balance and connect with your first chakra. It is the first of the main seven chakras in order from the spinal base to top of the head and is represented by the color red in the photo to the left.</p>
<p>Chakras are energy centers within our bodies. Each of the main seven chakras focuses on different areas of our body. The Muladhara root chakra, or first chakra, governs our physical world, grounding and connections with ourselves and others. It governs feelings of connecting yourself to the earth and being one with your physical surroundings.</p>
<h2>Red and the First Chakra</h2>
<p>Red represents the first chakra and fiery hot emotions, thoughts, and feelings. The types of negative emotions ruled by the root chakra include humiliation, embarrassment, belonging, crimes against our body, fear and grounding. It is related to the Earth element. These emotions can lead to this chakra being underdeveloped, almost as though it is in hiding. In order to balance this chakra, you first need to learn how to connect with it.</p>
<h2>Connecting with your First Chakra</h2>
<p>First imagine that the bottom of your spine  has roots extending from it going deep into the ground. Imagine these roots traveling deep into the center of the earth, connecting with your core energy. Meditation is quite useful for learning to connect. Here are a few recommendations for <a href="http://www.intuitivejournal.com/meditation-music/" target="_blank">meditation CD&#8217;s</a>.</p>
<p>Learning to find love within yourself and accepting yourself as you are now can help to balance and align the energies in this chakra. By balancing the root chakra, you will begin to feel more in touch with who you really are as a human being and how you fit into this life. Approval of self has a lot to do with an unbalanced base chakra.</p>
<h2>How to Balance the Root Chakra</h2>
<p>The use of affirmations is a technique that can be done anywhere, such as <em>&#8220;I approve of myself&#8221;</em>. Repeat this at least 50 times daily or as needed. It goes to your core being. I have used this particular affirmation and had great success with it. It seems to help you regain your center.</p>
<p>A barefoot walk in the grass in warmer weather is a wonderful way to balance the root chakra, as the earth under your feet helps to deepen your connection with source.</p>
<h2>Incense and Essential Oils</h2>
<p>Another way to balance the first chakra is burning a woodsy incense made up of sandalwood and cinnamon. You can also purchase essential oils in those scents as well. These earthy scents balance the energies of our bodies to bring the chakra back into alignment. <h2>Chakra Balancing Crystals</h2>
<p>Try wearing a necklace or bracelet made with crystal stones like bloodstone, hematite, and red jasper to stimulate the root chakra. Garnet, agate, onyx, ruby, black tourmaline,  smoky quartz,  red corral are nice choices as well. <a href="http://www.etsy.com/search_results.php?search_query=crystal+healing&amp;filter[0]=handmade&amp;filter[1]=jewelry" target="_blank">Etsy.com</a> is a wonderful place to shop for handmade jewelry using beautiful crystals like the ones mentioned.</p>

<p>If you have been feeling stressed out or just can&#8217;t seem to concentrate on an important task or project, a guided meditation can help you clear your mind so what is most important comes to the surface.</p>
<p>&#8220;But I don&#8217;t have time for that, I have a ton of stuff to get done right now.&#8221; you might say to yourself. I used to think that way too, until I actually tried it for myself. Now I have come to realize that by taking the time to clear your mind up front, I can be much more productive in what I want to accomplish, because I have clarity in my tasks and goals.</p>
<p>I have recently started meditating and found it to be an absolutely wonderful experience. I always thought meditation was just something that some young new age person did and really had no idea what was involved with meditation and just thought he sounded a little bit off the wall. Well, I was definitely wrong!</p>
<h1>Guided Meditation</h1>
<p>What is surprising is just how good it has made me feel being able to take a 20 to 30 minute break from my routine with a guided meditation and close out everything else that&#8217;s going on around me. Just concentrating on being present allows the thoughts that are most important in my life to pop to the surface, crystal clear. I also get a flood of ideas for new business ideas when I meditate.</p>
<h1>Relaxation Techniques</h1>
<p>Because you take the time to relax your mind and concentrate on your body, all the things that have gotten pushed to the back of your subconscious actually have a chance to come through. That is one of the beauties of meditation that I had no idea existed before. It is quite a wonderful feeling to be able to just sit back and relax and just be in the moment and block everything else out. I feel refreshed and it seems I have a lot more energy for the rest of the day.</p>
<h1>Developing Intuition</h1>
<p>Meditating can also help you develop your intuition and that sense of inner knowing. By quieting the mind and your ego, the small quiet signals that may have been buried by the ego and a chattering mind full of daily tasks now have a chance to be heard. For myself, this has been useful for evaluating those nagging doubts about why you don&#8217;t like something or someone, but just can&#8217;t put your finger on why. When you give yourself the time to let your subconscious thoughts come to the surface, the light will go on and you will have your answers.</p>

<p>For many of us, myself included, meditating is a completely new experience. I began to understand the need to meditate when I wanted to receive answers from my higher self, but kept getting stuck. My ego and consciousness were blocking what my subconscious wanted to tell me.</p>
<p>In order to make the leap, I began to get signals that I should learn how to meditate. Having no idea what was involved,, I searched online as a place to get started and learn more about this mysterious relaxation technique.</p>
<p>I found out that a guided meditation was something that would help me the most. I downloaded a few free sessions from various web sites to get an idea of what it was like. Boy, was I blown away! I had no idea how powerful meditating could be. In just a few sessions, I was able to receive useful information from my higher self so quickly it was amazing.</p>
<h1>Unexpected Benefits&#8230;</h1>
<p>Another unexpected benefit was how peaceful and relaxing it is listening to a soothing voice gently guiding your thoughts. For some time, the idea of sitting down for 20 to 30 minutes or so and doing nothing but listening to a soothing voice seemed rather silly, after all I was too busy for that! But after a handful of sessions, I came to realize just how powerful meditating can be. That half hour you take to get in touch with yourself can save you many hours in productivity and reduce your stress levels considerably.</p>
<p>Imagine knowing exactly what should be done next in your job or in your home life. That kind of positive knowing is possible when you are able to get comfortable with what your higher self is trying to tell you.</p>

<p>Do you have difficulty finding time to meditate? I know I do. Find some helpful tips and ideas on setting up an area in your home for meditation and squeezing it in to your busy schedule.</p>
<p>Right now I am averaging 1-2 sessions per week. Not great, but they are helpful. I have read a few articles that mention the fact that meditation is something that the more regularly you do it, the more useful it becomes and the greater benefit you can derive from it.</p>
<p>Finding the time to develop a regular meditation practice can be difficult, especially if you are not used to having it as part of your daily routine. Between work, children, and preparing food, it can become a challenge to find 30-60 minutes during the day just for yourself.</p>
<p>Part of the problem also stems from being a bit embarrassed, especially when it comes to a spouse, mate, or other family member, who may not understand the benefits of meditation or just give you a hard time and tell you it is just woo-woo stuff and you shouldn&#8217;t be bothered with it.</p>
<h2>Benefits of Meditation</h2>
<p>Benefits of meditation for me so far have included increased clarity and positive knowing. After a session, I am refreshed and clear on what I need to do next with my writing or setting goals.</p>
<p>Meditating also helps me to connect to my spirit guides and higher self. By having regular conversations with your guides, you will be able to discern more easily between general thoughts and the wisdom your guides want to pass on to you.</p>
<h2>Tips and Ideas</h2>
<p>Here a few ideas I have to begin a more frequent schedule of meditating. By finding what works for you, it can begin to develop into a regular habit.</p>
<ul>
<li>Try it when the children are napping, or after they have gone to bed.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Skip the television for 30-60 minutes and go up to your bedroom or spare bedroom so you can have some quiet time.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Begin training the rest of the family that this is &#8220;your time&#8221; and that you can&#8217;t be disturbed.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Try to find a quiet spot in your home to set up a chair or yoga mat. The space does not have to be very large. It would be even better if you have a spot to make a small alter with some of your favorite items on it.  A small shelf will do or a small side table that would be within view when you meditate. Stock it with things that have meaning to you. It may be stones or crystals, a favorite momento from a loved one, or a visualization board.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Don&#8217;t underestimate the use of a recliner,  couch, or a bed for a guided meditation. Wherever you are comfortable is a good place to meditate. For some, this may be too comfortable, as you don&#8217;t actually want to fall asleep, just get into a relaxed state.  That is why many prefer a mat or upright chair instead.</li>
</ul>
