Guided Meditations for Relaxation and Healing

I woke up this morning thinking about the upcoming Christmas holiday and once again wondering if I would be able to get all of the shopping, baking, visiting, and decorating done in the time line I wanted. I made a list of what still needs to be done and it is quite long. Talk about feeling tense and overwhelmed!

Christmas shopping in particular is something I don’t view as a lot of fun anymore because I find myself absorbing energies from strangers and come home totally exhausted. I know many of you have told me that you feel the same way. Gotta love being an empath! Thank goodness for online shopping!

Then there is also dealing with family and relation that you may only see a few times a year. Some you look forward to seeing, others maybe not so much. It all starts adding up to tense shoulders, raised tempers, and a feeling of not having control over a situation. Even in the best of families, this can still be a stressful time of year. Last year I wrote about forgiveness and letting go. A guided meditation can help you to do that.

Over time, I have come to appreciate what a guided meditation can do to bring stress levels into check. You can literally feel the stress leaving your body. I have tried out other meditations on occasion, some free and some that I purchased, but until recently hadn’t found any I really connected with.

What Do You Really Want?

What do you really want deep down at soul level? Are you a vibrational match for what you really want and desire? Learn to recognize when your intentions and desires are not yet in vibrational alignment.

A few days ago I posted this on my Facebook page: “Isn’t it amazing that what you want most can strike such fear in your heart if actually presented to you? It shows you the vibrational gap between where you are and where you need to be in order to receive what you want.”

Earlier this week I had set a monetary intention for myself. I took out a notebook and wrote that intention over 100 times with fairly focused concentration and put it away and went on with my work.

The Universe Delivers

Within two hours I received an email from someone I had not met, but had followed on Twitter. The Law of Attraction does work! She had a project she was working on and wanted to discuss it with me.

I took a look at her site and my first thought was fear. Oh! This is big and real! I couldn’t do this! Curiosity got the best of me and my Spirit Guides said “just listen to what she has to say”.

It turned out to be something completely different than I thought. Don’t you love it when you jump to mental conclusions before you even know any details?

I was thrilled to be asked and excited about the project. I really wanted to be a full part of the project. We talked on the phone and I learned the benefits and cost of being involved with the project. There were two options with different price points. I said I would think about it and get back to her the next day.

I was so excited to think about the possibilities of this collaboration. I talked with my husband about it that night and being the practical guy he is, asked me if my business could take the expense. I pulled up the bank account and realized it would be more than I was willing to part with. Now, I know some of you are probably thinking “why didn’t you just charge it?” I had decided about a month ago that I would not be charging incidentals and I felt this qualified as such as it was an unplanned expense.

My Decision

I made the decision to go with the lower priced option. I will have to say I felt slightly disappointed by my decision, or I guess slightly disappointed in myself. I still think each was a good value, but sometimes things have to be passed by in order to have a bit more financial security, and this was one of those times.

There Are No Mistakes and Everything Matters

The Universe doesn’t make mistakes. You are where you are. Your job is to learn why, then you can move on.

So, what did I learn from this? I learned that my past fears and doubts I had about myself and what I could do have affected something I really wanted today. The Universe made it quite clear that this was a great opportunity. It was also made clear why I would need to pass on the higher priced option.

It has given me a clearer understanding of how you can so easily sabotage yourself when you think you can’t do something or refuse to leave your comfort zone, and how self-doubt and negative thoughts have a greater long lasting impact than you may realize at the time. I was not in complete 100% vibrational alignment with my desires. I was close, but not all the way there. I guess I learned everything matters.

Divine Timing and Repeating Numbers

Many of you have emailed me asking what you need to do when you see repeating numbers. Here is one account of how I have incorporated them into my everyday life.

Seeing 555

Early Sunday morning I woke up out of sound sleep, rolled over and saw 555 on the digital clock. Hmm…

Divine Timing

The day proceeded as normal until early afternoon when I was preparing to go grocery shopping. My son and a friend of his told me the were going to bicycle over to his house. They left the driveway and headed in the opposite direction. This wasn’t sitting too well with me and I went out to the road to see where they were headed.

I continued to get my list together and as I was headed out the door, my son’s friend whizzes by on the sidewalk with his bike. I got him to stop and asked where my son was. He stated he was up ahead and they were racing to his house. I couldn’t see him ahead, but it seemed they were both fine.

I went to the car in the garage to find that it wouldn’t start. I kept turning the key and it just didn’t have enough juice to turn over. Finally it did.

Just at the point that my car finally started, my son pedals into the driveway, fairly shaken up because he didn’t know where his friend had gone. I was able to be there and comfort him and told him I had talked to his friend and he should ride his bike over there while I went shopping. Crisis averted.

I had been letting the car idle in the garage for about 10 minutes or so. I turned it off, started the car again and all was well, it was running fine. I completed my grocery shopping without incident. On the way there I was thinking about the incident and wondering if it was divinely guided that I left later than I had planned.

A car drove past me with the first three numbers of the license plate being 111. Asked and answered.

On the way back from my shopping, I was thinking about the earlier situation with my son again, wondering if it had all been set up so that I could be there for him. I realized I had got into the wrong turn lane as I needed to stop somewhere else before going home, so I turned around in a parking lot and saw another, totally different car with the first three numbers of that plate begin 111. Asked and answered again.

My Take on Divine Timing

I am very grateful to have still been at the house when my son needed me. He would have been fairly worried if I had left only a few minutes earlier and there had been no one at home, even though he knew I was going shopping. I strongly believe that divine timing (the notion that everything happens at the exact right time) played a big part in that.

Sometimes there doesn’t have to be a big earth shattering reason to see repeating numbers. You may have even found this post a bit boring. This is one way that I incorporate the numbers into my everyday life as to be useful.

And yes, I will be getting the battery checked out, because that is just being sensible.

Can Yoga Improve Your Psychic Abilities?

Do you have questions about yoga, psychic abilities, and what it has to offer you in the areas of physical health, mind-body balance, and exercise? This is something I have been asking myself recently. Today’s post is more for me than anything, so I am going to turn the tables and ask all of you some questions.

Resisting Guidance

One of my Spirit Guides has repeatedly been popping thoughts into my head about starting a yoga routine (for about the past two years). I can be a bit stubborn about some things, like trying a new exercise routine and have mostly ignored the messages. Thankfully my Guide is infinitely patient with me!

She sends me messages out of the blue that I should try it. Emails appear in my inbox offering discounts on sessions from a local yoga studio. A high school Facebook friend is becoming a yoga teacher. All sorts of Yoga people start following me on Twitter. My favorite metaphysical store moved right next door to a yoga studio. You get the idea.

I guess I am not sure why I have such a resistance to trying yoga. I have done other types of exercise programs in the past like step aerobics and really loved them (I think I may have just dated myself there!). I bought a yoga DVD and mat almost two years ago and it still sits unused. I guess my ego thinks I don’t need to do this, but my Guides have other ideas.

Improving Psychic Abilities with Yoga

I have read articles that state you can achieve a higher level of awareness and consciousness through yoga. I found this article pretty interesting. It discusses that through a practice of yoga, some of the side benefits are increased psychic abilities.

I also had a guest post earlier this year by Maria Rainier about the Physiological and Psychological Benefits of Yogic Meditation. She said that the combination of meditation and yoga had many holistic health benefits.

Losing Weight with Yoga

Perhaps some of my resistance to doing yoga is the amount of time out of my day. I really want to lose some extra weight and need some toning, but only have a limited amount of time to devote to it. Will yoga help me to lose weight? I have also considered something more extreme like Zumba Fitness or P90x training, but I don’t know if I am up for either of those challenges. Do I need both?

Your Experiences with Yoga

So, if you have done yoga, why did you start? Is it a good form of exercise? Is it best for mind-body balance? What has improved in your life because of it? What do I need to know before I start?

Is it more effective taking an actual class, or can you get the same results from a DVD? I guess what I am looking for are some real life testimonials to get me off center and finally try it.

I realize after typing this article that I am sounding like I am asking you to “prove it to me”. I think what I am really looking for is motivation. Starting a new routine never sounds like any fun.

I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

Trusting Yourself and the Universe

How much do you really trust yourself and the Universe to bring you what you want and need? Have you set intentions over and over with no results?

A few days ago I set a monetary intention to be achieved by the end of the month. I guess I have been stressing about all of the hows involved in order to manifest my intention. I found myself grouchy, edgy, and annoyed. I decided to log in and use Automatic writing to talk to my Spirit Guides about what was going on. Here is what they said…

“You need to relax. You have set an intention, but you keep worrying about the result. Here’s how you do it. Once your intention is set, you need to learn how to take inspired action. Worrying and worrying about how the money is going to come to you or checking your advertising earnings multiple times per day will not get you where you want to be.

The message you are sending out is that you do not trust the universe to give you the inspiration necessary. In essence you are not trusting in yourself. Make it a game. You have always done well with games and trying to better what you achieved before. You have the full ability to manifest your intention this month and much more. Learn to ask better questions. We hear you asking the same questions over and over again, but you are missing the bigger picture. The Universe is capable of bringing you all of your desires and more, if you will only allow it.

Going over the intention in your head is okay to an extent but it just brings in the energies of more worry. You can do this. Why are you so afraid of your the power you hold? We love you. Trust us and be open to the money coming from different sources than you expect. Just allow it to happen. Can you say you trust the Universe completely to bring you what you want? Keeping changing your mind is a sure way to not get anything. Pick one dollar amount and stick to it all month. There is always opportunity to change the amount next month. Nothing is holding you back but your own fears right now.

Allow the support from the Universe to manifest and be open to odd new, but exciting ideas that could be anything from a new telephone call, something in the mail or overhearing what someone is talking about that makes the light bulb go off. Those are the signals the Universe is sending to you. They are messages from your Spirit Guides to assist you in manifesting your intention. There is never any shortage of ideas, it really comes down to how much you trust in the Universe and how much you believe in yourself.”

Trusting what you Get

When you have set an intention in the past and it has not come to pass, did you find yourself doing any of these things (like me)?

Changing your mind on your intention frequently as though you only get one chance.
Expecting the result to come in the form of a neat package in exactly the same form it may have come to you before.
Not believing in yourself enough to allow something good to come into your life.
Not following those new ideas to completion – did you take action or did you think the idea was just a fluke and wasn’t meant for you?

Angel Stories – Assistance from the Beyond

Over the years I have read many wonderful angel stories. This page is dedicated to those almost unexplainable things in our lives that there is no other way to explain except that there was help from the Divine to get us out of a situation or help us to see a situation more clearly.

The White Tunnel

I will start this off with one of my own angel stories. I would love it if you would share yours as well. Just leave a comment below.

About 5 years ago we had an incredible snowstorm that started in mid-afternoon. My work closed down early and I still had to pick up my son at daycare before the 15 mile drive ahead of me. I started off and could barely make the turn onto the street to pick up my son, as I have a smaller low to the ground car and no 4-wheel drive. I somehow managed to get back on to the main road and headed toward home. I thought the visibility would improve once I got to the highway, but the weather turned worse. This was some of the worst white-out conditions I have ever encountered.

Here I was driving with my son in the backseat and it was a complete white-out in front of me and 15 miles to get home. Crawling along at 20-30 miles per hour with no visibility made for an extremely tense drive. I could not make out where the side of the road was or where the ditch was. I just kept pointing the car in the direction I thought was correct and hoped I didn’t drive into the ditch or field or hit another car.

I was slowly making progress when the white-out conditions became so bad that I began to feel like the car was floating. It felt as though I was going through this eerie white tunnel, as there was absolutely no visibility anywhere just completely bright white. I could not hear a sound from the storm or from the engine. There was nothing but absolute silence. At one point, I really thought we had an accident, died and our souls were traveling through this white tunnel. I drove in this for about 10-15 minutes.

During that time I repeatedly asked for the Angels protection, and specifically Archangel Michael to get me home safely. All I kept thinking about during that drive was seeing my driveway and turning in. I had to make a left turn at one point and then ended up navigating around three other cars that were at various angles in the ditches.

I knew the house and driveway were getting close. I attempted to gauge the driveway entrance, turned in and promptly got stuck in my driveway. It took me a few hours to calm down after that harrowing experience. I know the Angels were on my side that afternoon. Without their assistance, I know I never would have made it home safely.

Have your Spirit Guides Lost Patience with You?

Do your spirit guides lose patience with you if you keep asking the same questions repeatedly? Will they just get annoyed and up and leave you to your own devices? Have you ever wondered if your spirit guides have abandoned you because of asking them the same question in a myriad of different ways over and over again?

Patience and Love

Your guides have the utmost patience and love for you . They are here to assist you in your spiritual journey and they will always be by your side, waiting patiently for you to embrace the wisdom and knowledge they have imparted, even if it was some time ago. You must realize and trust that you have been given a gift to help you through life.

Your spirit guides voluntarily signed up to be your personal guides in this lifetime and will be with you always. They are volunteering and sharing their infinite love, knowledge, guidance, experience, and patience to help you discover your life’s purpose and guide you through the maze known as life.

Do Your Guides Understand Your Language?

Your guides have lived through at least one human incarnation, perhaps many more, so they do have insight into how humans interact in the physical dimension. It may have been many lifetimes ago, however, so they may need to be “brought up to speed” in terms of what you are asking for in the current day.

You may actually have to spell out a few definitions regarding what you want. Your guides may not know what money is or what a job is. Have a conversation with your guides and explain exactly what you are asking for. Use as many details as you feel necessary.

Have a Talk with Your Spirit Guides

Sometimes having a pleasant conversation with your guides may not be enough. When there is something serious in going on in your life, you may need extra or immediate guidance. It is okay to talk very sternly or even yell or shout at your guides. They will not take offense to this.

Since they vibrate on a higher level than we do in the physical, many times they do not see things as important to the larger picture. Be very clear in your intent of what you need or want. Just remember after you are done to really listen for the answers that come to you.

What if You are Really Stubborn?

Okay, I think I am writing this portion just for myself. I guess it is the Aries in me coming out. What if you have received guidance from your guides and just outright choose to ignore it and do something else? Will your Spirit Guides continue to give you guidance?

Yes, they will. But you see they always answer your questions and give guidance accordingly. They will not interfere with freewill. So if you choose to go in another direction then the original advice given, they will change course and give advice according to what your wishes are.

This can be a double edged sword, I hope you realize. You may choose something that is really not part of your life purpose and plan, but they will continue to give ideas and suggestions for whatever you are asking about, when specifically asked. So be careful what you ask for and also ask yourself why you are discarding their initial messages.

Rediscovering Your Intuition

Having trouble accessing your intuition or feel like you don’t have any intuition at all? Learn to rediscover, recognize, and access your intuitive abilities.

“Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drown your own inner voice. Everything else is secondary.” - Steve Jobs

You intuition can become so buried in the day to day business of life and what others think, it is easy to think you never had any intuition in the first place or were too scared to pursue your intuitive abilities. Some of you have even been told developing your intuition can be dangerous.

Do you wonder if you have any intuition at all? Do you feel as though you’ve lost your intuition, or never had any in the first place? I used to feel that way for many years. I love the quote above, and wish I had been able to refer to that when I was younger.

Remember When…

Remember back when you were a small child and the ways of the world were unknown to you yet? Back then you saw the world in black and white, good and bad, and there weren’t any shades of gray?

As a young child you used your intuition to protect yourself from scary strangers, dangerous situations, and to figure out who was a good friend.

Along the years, out intuition gets shut down by a variety of things. Many religions talk quite negatively about intuitive abilities. Other times, it may be your friends and family. When you are young and still developing your mind and body, it can be quite easy for your intuition to be shut down. You may have been unsure of yourself, and didn’t understand what was happening or why. There may have been little to no support.

In my household growing up, people with psychic abilities were hardly ever discussed. It just wasn’t a part of our lives, nor was it expected to be. I remember having a conversation at dinner one night about a psychic, Shirley MacLaine, that had made the news. I don’t even remember what the news piece was about, it would have been in the early 80′s, but at our dinner table it was completely scoffed at, made fun of and dismissed in quick order. I jumped on the bandwagon and began making fun of it as well, following in my family’s footsteps.

It was basically “go along to get along”, especially when it came to my Dad. Life just didn’t work that way in our house. Just keep working hard, there’s no room for intuition. What is THAT, anyway?

The Lightbulb Goes On

It was quite interesting, some 30 or so years later to be having a similar discussion at my place of work. Some years back, long before this website was created, I loudly made a comment about not believing in psychic abilities to some co-workers. It just finally clicked, that what I said was the same thing as what I had said about 30 years earlier to my family around the dinner table.

I really took some time to question myself about what I had said. Did I truly believe that or was I just parroting what others had said? I came to the conclusion it was the latter. Hmm…what you speak loudest about…may actually have some bearing.

Ready for More

I then started thinking about some of the unexplainable experiences I have had throughout the years that I had just blown off as coincidence or not even mentioned them to others.

After that point I proceeded to learn as much as I could about anything related to psychic abilities, spirituality, and intuition. It was like something inside of me pushing me (perhaps my Spirit Guides!) to learn as much as I could to catch up on all of the years I had ignored my abilities and pushed them away.

What developing my intuitive abilities has done for me has given me a sense of finally finding myself, of being comfortable with myself and discovering my life’s purpose (or at least has gotten me a lot closer to it).

Signs From Your Spirit Guides

How do you know your spirit guides are indeed helping you? Signs from your guides can come in any number of forms including the written word, a voice from within, or physical signs that conveniently appear.

This is the third in a series of articles I am writing on spirit guides. I highly encourage you to read the first article: Spirit Guides – Who’s on Your Team? and also the second article: How Spirit Guides Help Us Through Life.

Signs Your Spirit Guides are Helping You

There are many ways your spirit guides communicate with you. They do so by coming to you in your dreams, during meditation and also in other forms that may be more subtle, such as the spoken or written word, or physical signs.

The Spoken Word

I have had this happen more than a few times…you are thinking deeply about a certain subject and you are out in a group of people. You “pick up” another person’s conversation and even though their topic may not be completely related, the words that came out of their mouth were exactly what you needed to hear. That is a sign your guides are making an attempt to give you guidance and answers to your questions. They will utilize others in an attempt to help you.

I have also found the opposite to be true. Have you ever had instances where you were explaining something to a group and the words that came out didn’t feel like they were your own? It is likely at that point you were the one being of assistance to someone else around you, giving them the message that they needed to hear at that exact time.

The Written Word

Another way you Spirit Guides communicate with you is through the written word. Ask a question and then pick up a book and flip to a random page. Without looking, put your finger on a specific sentence. Chances are it was just what you needed to hear or read at that time.

Voices and Thoughts

Thoughts – Do you find yourself thinking about something out of the blue? Guides will sometimes repeat the same word, picture, or message over and over until it clicks in our conscious thoughts.

If you have ever felt the presence of a gentle nudge, a flash of inspiration or something helping you find just the right words, those are also signs your guides are communicating with you and assisting you.

Signs can come to you in a number of ways. Perhaps you hear a certain song, something flashes on the TV screen at just the right time, a co-worker says something to another that seems like it was meant just for you? It was.

Physical Signs

Physical signs are probably some of the easiest to recognize. Did you happen to see that license plate or billboard that had the answer that made you smile? You guides are pretty great about putting you in front of just the right words that you need to see.

How Spirit Guides Help Us Through Life

Your spirit guide team is comprised of a group of incorporeal beings that are here to assist you with your incarnation here on this Earth. They are comprised of entities that have incarnated before, most of them for a number of lifetimes. They were chosen by you before you incarnated to be a part of your team when you were ready.

Hiring Your Guides

Your guides come in at various stages in your life. You do not need many guides when you are young as you do not have very many decisions to make at that point. As your responsibilities increase, they are asked to take their place and begin assisting you in making decisions and choices that are in your highest path and purpose.

Please note, that you are never required to follow their advice or suggestions. You have free will to make any choice you wish. Your spirit guides can only suggest certain paths of action and hope that you make choices in alignment with that. If you go off course, they will recalculate the game plan and try alternate methods to get in touch with you as to what the next best option would be to get you back on the plan of your highest path and purpose.

Your guides are aware of the plan your soul has chosen for this lifetime. The better able you are to connect with your guides, the less struggles you will encounter. They are here to help you out with your life’s purpose for this lifetime. Your guides would never ask you to do anything that would put you in danger or cause you undue harm. They are YOUR team and each soul has a unique group of guides that work specifically on your behalf.

What do guides help us with here on Earth?

Spirit guides offer assistance in the areas of life purpose, career, finance, health and wellness, family, relationships, career changes, death and grieving, spirituality, and many other areas. The assist us in completing our chosen life lesson.

Guides each have their own soul vibration rate and their own personalities. They speak through wisdom to assist you along the years you are here on Earth. They assist you in learning your life lessons in various ways. They do so hope that you utilize the resources available to you and will keep trying until you see those resources for yourself.

Ask for Your Guides Assistance

They of course cannot force you to listen to them, in fact many of you have disregarded your guides and are thinking that there is no help there for you. There is, but you have to seek it out, find them, and ask for their assistance.

You get so caught up in the beauty of the Earth and the physical things, such as politics, food, and relationships, that you forget about the spiritual side of things and the reason you incarnated in the first place.

Your personal spirit guides are waiting in the wings, read and able to offer you new choices and advice. If only you let them in to your life. Your guides think that sometimes make your incarnation here on Earth much more difficult than it needs to be. All you have to do is ask for their assistance.
